"Most of the cost of a fidget is time on the CNC machine. Some pieces take four, five, even six hours. Rather than refuse to make them, I'll tell you what they need to cost, and you decide."
Magnus, Magnus Fidgets · New Zealand
Hey, it's Magnus here. This page is different to all the other pages on the website, so it's important you read on.
While I love designing and making fidgets, running a genuine, profitable business is the only way I can continue to do this. I recently combed through the numbers of every single piece we make and found that some pieces were losing us money, in some cases a lot of money, for every one we made.
Yes, I know, shame on me for not crunching the numbers sooner. I will readily admit I am a "let's just make it anyway" kind of guy. A little too optimistic perhaps.
I have had no choice but to kill off a whole load of designs, some of them very new and barely into production. Most of the cost of making a fidget is in the time it takes on the CNC machine. If a fidget takes two or three hours and it's priced around $250, we can make it work. A lot of pieces take four or five hours, some even six. If a product takes twice as long to make, it's not going to be $250.
Rather than flat-out refuse to make a particular piece because I can't hit the selling price I want, I'll just tell you what it needs to be for me to justify making one for you. I feel this is a decent compromise, and that's why I created this page.

Same Skelly machining, very different weight in the hand.

Light, warm, and takes colour. The Mid Blue finish is anodised, not painted.

Dense, dark, and glassy to the touch. The Blackout finish is machined into the metal.

The heavy one. Polished or natural matte, and it develops a patina the more you carry it.
The Right To Buy a specific piece. Your $37 claims a numbered slot and tells Magnus to start machining. It is deducted from the total, so the balance you pay later is the full price minus $37.
Anywhere from a few days up to two weeks. Some pieces are partly made already, some are started from bar stock. You'll get an email with a payment link the moment yours is finished.
Because the piece doesn't exist yet. The deposit covers Magnus's commitment to machine it, and the balance is charged only when it's real and in his hand.
Slots open as pieces are finished. Join the list for that piece below and you'll be emailed before the next slot goes public.
Orders ship express from New Zealand, 3 to 5 days to most countries. Your country may charge import duties or tariffs on arrival, and those are outside Magnus's control.
Yes. One year of replacement or refund against manufacturing or design defects. Threads on some pieces are fine and can strip if overtightened, so disassemble gently.
Tell us which piece. When a slot opens, you hear about it before this page does.
